08-February: Alan Simpson, one half of legendary British sitcom writing partnership (Ray) Galton & Simpson, died on February 8th aged 87. Leonard appeared in several of their creations. First, in a 1964 episode of Steptoe & Son 'The Lead Man Cometh' and again in the 1972 episode 'The Desperate Hours'. Leonard played the lead in 'I Tell You It's Burt Reynolds', one episode of the 1977 Galton & Simpson Playhouse series of one-off comedies. The duo also wrote the story and screenplay for the 1979 film 'Le Petomane' in which Leonard starred as "fartiste" Joseph Pujol. - Obituary - Interview: How We Met.
